Sandy Point Resort Campgrounds at 176 Sandy Point Drive, Knotts Island, North Carolina.

the first warning sign is that the campground is attached to what looks like a long term stay trailer park. people live there.

the bath house is in horrible condition..mold all over the place..nowhere to change. no ventilation. nasty toilets. questionable liquid all over the floor. I felt dirtier after I took a shower than I did before hand.

we rented a rustic tent site which turned out to be all the way in the back of the campground in the middle of a drained swamp with no trees for shade. it is not the tent site they show in the pictures with a seawall and trees. we also had some guy in a 4x4 who thought it was fun to use the campground as a personal mud bogging course. which apparently management had no issue with. lots of mud, snakes and lots of mosquitoes. no laundry room.

had a horrible experience. I've been camping all over the US and hiked the AP and this is the first time I have ever left early due to horrid unbearable conditions.

over all the staff acted friendly. the view was great. I would highly recommend dropping the resort portion of the name as they offer none of the amenities expected to be offered at a resort.
